It is May, and my garden is bursting with color. Everywhere I look there are flowers putting on a firework display.

But May is exciting for vegetable growing as well, because finally we can get those last seeds in the ground. The packages of peas and bean seeds clearly states that they should be planted in May, and I am not one to turn up my nose at good advice. However I am also not one to let moss grow on stones, so May 1st I was out in the vegetable boxes, shovel in hand.
Beans and peas planted. Check!
The pumpkins and artichokes were planted in the ground, after some serious weeding to get the sites ready.

Seedlings planted. Check! All except the brussel sprouts and cucumbers... They are still hanging out in the greenhouse.
While at it we also weeded the wild strawberry beds, and around the blueberry bushes. It was nice to see the little flowers making their promises of future berries.

We're in store for lots of plums this year as well, if the blossoms are any indication of things to come.

Hope you are all enjoying your garden as much as I am mine!
